Michael Martin Murphy is known for his songs and song-writing ability. Since 1975 when his hit song “Wildfire” championed the music charts to 1983 when he was voted the Best New Male Vocalist by the Academy of Country Music,
Mr. Murphy has produced additional country classics such as “What’s Forever For”, “Carolina in the Pines”, and “A Long Line of Love”. He is also known for his preservation of the spirit of the American Cowboy not only through West Fest, but all his other endeavors earning him the Western Heritage Award from the Cowboy Hall of Fame 5 times! His concerts are a popular draw on the Rio Grande Express train throughout the summer as he often performs up at La Veta Pass.
Joining Michael Martin Murphy is Fred Hargrove, a frequent 3M concert opener or duo partner. Mr. Hargrove currently resides in neighboring Monte Vista, CO and when not joining Mr. Murphy, keeps his own very busy concert schedule. His rich voice sings eloquent poetry of the cowboy way of life earning his written word a place at an exclusive art exhibit at the Denver International Airport and an article in the Rocky Mountain News.
Mr. Hargrove’s latest CD, “My Sacred Ground” is now on two Top 20 Western Charts.
